Abstract Submission Guidelines

The abstract submission is open

Deadline for the abstract submission: March 15, 2026

Abstract Guidelines

  • The scientific committee highly encourages the submission of original scientific material.
  • Abstracts must be drafted in English.
  • Abstracts presented at another national or international congress in 2025 and 2026 can be submitted again. Abstracts presented during the last OMAI in 2023 cannot be submitted again.
  • Already published data must be indicated with the use of references
  • At least one of the abstract authors must be registered for and participate at OMAI 2026 in person.
  • Pharmaceutical abstracts are accepted if at least one medical specialist (specialist doctor, resident doctor, student, nurse and other job groups) had a major role in the study (first or last author of abstract) and actually followed the scientific work - the medical specialist must present the abstract at OMAI 2026 in person.

With the abstract submission, the subject field of the abstract has to be defined:

  • Electrocochleography (EcochG)
    • Cochlear microphonics, summating potential, action potential, intraoperative monitoring, residual hearing assessment, objective cochlear function, neural health, correlation with speech outcomes
  • Bone conduction hearing and devices
    • Vibration transmission analysis, bone conduction device testing, hearing prediction and outcomes
  • Active middle ear implants
    • Output verification, transducer function tests, LDV, objective coupling efficiency, middle ear mechanics, intraoperative and postoperative performance monitoring
  • Passive middle ear prosthesis
    • Ossicular chain mobility analysis, LDV, vibromechanical transfer function, middle ear mechanics, intraoperative and postoperative objective evaluation
  • Objective measures and outcomes in CI
    • eCAP, eABR, impedance telemetry, spread of excitation, neural health, correlation with speech outcomes
  • Imaging / OCT / Photon counting CT
    • Objective structural assessment, implant position quantification, electrode-to-modiolus distance, soft tissue differentiation, functional imaging correlations
  • Cortical function
    • CAEPs, ASSR, mismatch negativity (MMN), objective cortical plasticity measures, cognitive load markers, auditory attention monitoring
  • Others

Structure of the abstract

If applicable, the abstract should consist of the following parts:

    1. Title (please do not use only capital letters; if your abstract contains a case report, please indicate in the title)
    2. The content of the abstract (limited to 2,500 characters including spaces) should consist of the following parts:
      • Goals
      • Material and Methods
      • Results
(Arithmetic characters are to be separated with spaces. Example: Permitted is the notation "p < 0.5", whereas "p<0.5" is not permitted)
      • Conclusion
    3. Authors (please include all authors in the correct order) - Authors are not allowed to be included in the abstract text, there are added in a specific section of the abstract submission portal
    4. Affiliations (please include the authors’ complete affiliations by indicating the corresponding company/institutions, department, location and country)
    5. Acknowledgements or references can be added in the separate field below the abstract body.
    6. References should be indicated using the following format: author name, journal name, year of publication, volume, starting page, without manuscript title; e.g. (Smith AG. et al. J Fant 2002:79:567).
    7. Please note that figures, tables or graphs cannot be included.

Abstract rating and notifications

The abstracts will be reviewed and rated by members of the scientific and organizing committees.

Abstract acceptance for oral presentations, poster flashes & posters, or posters will be sent to the corresponding author by early May 2026.

Abstract Publication

Accepted abstracts will be published on the OMAI 2026 website and in a PDF abstract book.
